Hello fellow fans, what does Orbital have to do with Perry Farrell, robots, nuclear war, Tesla, Tracy Lords, etc? I flew out to Paris to meet them and did an in-depth article on their return with "Wonky." Some fun facts and quotes are in the piece. It's told with a "pilgrim's voice."

Please check out and share if you dig: http://www.magneticmag.com/2012/05/this ... onky-road/

Happy to answer any questions if you have any and if you spot any errors, please let me know and I will fix ASAP.

Best,
TK

Totally lost an hour of my life there. Great job Mr Ghost, sounds like you'd have some great stories to tell 8)

I will check out your website too when I get a moment.

just skim read it, will have a proper read later.

Chuckled at Paul's reference to Iain M Banks - I always think of the band when he mentions an Orbital - basically a humungous ring, housing millions of people, with all the features of an Earth-like planet.

Likewise on the Banks bit.
Big fan of his non-science fiction also stuff but the Culture is a fantastic space-opera.

A really interesting, in depth article! Thanks for sharing this. I particularly like the references to science and other electronic music.

Aye, 'tis a little confusing alright. Never quite worked out what the Lammergeiers were all about.

A very interesting article about the brothers. I have always wondered which of the two was the sci-fi enthusiast.

Just finished it. They were basically enabling Bascule to get to the control deck of the tower and enable the lift for the others to get in. Or summat.

I just always got the impression they were metaphorical in some way. I mean why lammergeiers? Probably just me though.
Just finished his latest non-scifi book, Stonemouth. It's ok but if you've read The Crow Road or The Steep Approach to Garbadale you'll recognise the slant.

I assumed that they were a fictional bird!

I've read Steep Approach and thought it was a bit of a return to form. I'll try his new one but reading Matter just now.
