Dr Who - New Series

Post by shadyboy »

Nearly here - looking forward to it I must say....

What's the opinion of you lot?
Excited?
Couldn't give a toss?
Why Orbital weren't considered to do the music?

Amy Pond looks well fit!

Well - I thought that was excellent tonight.
Both leads were superb and loved the Grimm Fairy Tales vibe.....

I was impressed with it, as i thought the last couple of series have been poor (i didnt rate tennant at all). Good Story, I thought Smith was very good (reminded me of ecclestone) as was the person who playes Amy Pond ( :D ) . Rubbish music though.

Glad Russell T Davies pissed off. This episode was immediately quirkier, spookier and more inventive than anything he wrote. The Doctor's a bit more like David Tennant than I was hoping, but fingers crossed he'll grow into something a bit more different as time goes on. Liked the set up of his relationship with the companion - her having years of therapy after being told he doesn't exist is a great start point for a friendship. :) I always like Steven Moffat's exploitation of children's paranoias - cracks in the wall... things in the corner of your eye... statues... stopped clocks... shadows... Looking forward to plenty more of that.

But yes, the music's shit. Murray Gold was always one of the worst things about Doctor Who and I'm really disappointed they've got him back for more bland rumpy-pumpy-pum drivel blaring away in the background at all the most inappropriate moments.
