Memly - since your doing the backpacking in Asia thing, you should consider the Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan. I've never done it myself, but I've heard it's great fun from everyone who's gone...

Have already looked into this one Kvagga. Am aiming to be in Koh Phangan for a "Full Moon" sess.

Glastonbury dead? Riiiiiiiiight.... not sure I go along with that, lets see if it survives the year off but i'm chomping at the bit for 07... Not been to Big chill for a few year but didn't think it was all that when I went before...

Perhaps all the good festivals are the ones we haven't heard of. And once we do hear of them they won't be much good soon because then everyone will have heard of them.

Like the Sado Island Taeko festival

I'm fed up of festivals full of middle-class thirty-something couples holding hands while they drink red wine and smile at their beautiful baby in its three-wheeled buggy and listen to some mediocre chart band play that song off that TV advert they like. Too many of the fuckin things on, especially this year.

I like festivals full of crusties out of their minds on acid dancing until dawn next to a cheap soundsystem playing gabba and punk. Glastonbury, while there's been a massive influx of the former in recent years, thankfully is big enough to still support plenty of true festival spirit in the backwater areas. It's far and away the best festival in the world.

Been to some great ones already this year and have got another bunch lined up, which I'm looking forward to muchly.

Truck Festival next weekend, Pukkelpop in August and Bestival in September should see me through the rest of the summer nicely.

I'm only going to Glasto next year if James Blunt is on the main stage.Tarquin and Samantha got me his CD for Christmas and I think it's fab!

Speaking of festivals... the (new) Glastonbury film is on BBC2 right now, we just happened across it 20 minutes ago or so, but I think it's nearly over.

Glastonbury without any doubt. Its the only festival that i will buy a ticket without a care of the lineup. Its more than just music and i nothing comes close to it.

Now I think that The Glade is better than Glasto. This year (its third) was the best one yet.

Great crowd (and a good size at 8500), lovely location, much less walking aboot than Glasto (yes, it's my age...), and quality music of course.

To stylustrouble - I detect a hint of sarcasm here - don't be dissin' the Blunster.

Especially their signature toon - 'Vic-tooooor-riah, Vic-toooooor-riah, Victoriah, Victoriah', recently covered by the Kinks & The Fall...
