Orbital in 160 minutes

Hello peeps & creeps. Did you miss me? Not to be outdone by n00bs (krhm), here's my version of an Orbital Best Of. This takes us from 80 minutes to 160 minutes, or into a 2-CD compilation. I've thought of this last year already, but I don't think I've posted this before. Almost all of the songs ...

History of Violence 9/10 - Cronenberg majick

Crash 6/10 - Oscar winning hyper polished urban fairy tale. Magnolia worked. This one attempts to do everything and fails in most of it.

I've always said that some magic could happen on single b-sides, with Phil remixing Paul and vice versa.

I, too, am glad they're trodding different avenues.

Kvagga, puni puni poemi is only 2 x 30 minutes, and should be watched as a dessert on top of the 26 eps of Excel Saga. Trust me, you'll have fun. ;) There's plenty of great anime out there, I haven't seen too many series from beginning to end, but many people would propose at least Neon Genesis Evan...

On repeated listens, the only problem I really have is with the beats at the moment when they are present unaccompanied by other instruments. They don't seem to carry through that well. But when it all goes together, it's oooh-so-niiice! :P

Good candidates overall, especially AZUMANGA DAIOH and SOUTH PARK. THE SIMPSONS should be on the list, but until they stop making more episodes it's officially not yet part of TV history! Of anime series, PUNI PUNI POEMI and EXCEL SAGA are still beyond hysterical. Their "quality" as a seri...

I'm glad Paul's doing something very un-Phil-like, very anti-Longrange; the more the variety the better. I like the general production of the track, and I'm really looking forward to the album. Whether this song is a pointer as to what to expect remains to be seen, remains to be heard... Reminds me,...

Mine is 'Lehtauro'.

Now that sounds like a monster from Mongolian folk lore.

re Kvagga, Abenobashi is fantastic, just wanted to say that! Not quite FLCL, but close. Lately I've seen a couple of excellent japanese films, including Waterboys, The Great Yokai War, Fudoh and Takeshis'. I can recommend all of them. I barely see American films these days... Not my fault, not many ...

The question then is whether it's worth paying EP price for two new BoC tracks (plus two shorties plus one remix)... I'm undecided! Probably I will buy it, since The Campfire Headphase has grown on me immensely since its release.

I'm afraid I can't bring any info on the table.

I confess I haven't heard "Dude" yet, but let's just say I will have soon... ;)

I'm a huge fan of Millennium Fever, but with their later albums it takes an effort for me to appreciate.
