Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

Thanks. I was bidding on an ebay one, but didn't get it. Still, will keep my eyes out in case any more surface. Now all these promos have gone out, it'll be interesting to see reviews tricking through over the next few weeks. I'm also debating whther the Final Drop mix of PETROL is radically new and...

Re: Wonky Japanese Limited Edition 2 Disc

Bit miffed as i pre-ordered via the gig ticket + album bundle. Presumably that album is the one disc version. Nevermind, it's not as through live versions of x, y & z are thin on the ground. There is some confusion over that. Loopz did say it was being looked at but no info has yet been forthco...

Re: Oooo new site

Pete Claar's comment post is wonderful! He somehow seems to have summed up all the thoughts I had in my head but wasn't able to put down in words - both with questions about the writing process / map... And about the beautiful, transcendental quality of Orbital's music (I know exactly what he means ...

Re: For those not on the book of face

Interesting... Particularly that little 30 second work-in-progress sample. Sounds somewhere between In Sides and Middle of Nowhere. Although it'll probably sound totally different by the time it actually gets released! Can anyone make any sense of their album plan... Or is it their own idiosyncratic...

Re: something on Middle of Nowhere i dont know what is it.

I always guessed that he'd chipped in a few ideas during the recording of 'In Sides' and they'd forgotten to credit him for them on the sleeve, so they decided to drop him in on a humourous way on the next album (which he seemingly also worked on). I guess the Funky Pitch Bend idea is just the fact ...

Re: new years eve

I have an MP3 of just the (possible) new Orbital track, if you want to PM me your email address. Would be interested to hear whether other people reckon it's them or not. The more I listen, the more little Orbital trademarks I hear, so I'm pretty convinced.

Is there an instrumental version of Frenetic?

Does anyone know if an instrumental version of Frenetic exists? I seem to remember reading about one somewhere, a long time ago. I think the majority of the track's great, but not wild on the vocals for the first minute or so...

Re: new years eve

Oh yeah - that sounds a LOT like Orbital. Certainly got elements of Chime and Style in there. It's very good, whatever it is. Hope we get a tracklisting soon.

Middle of Nowhere's a great album - very under rated!

You can listen to it on the above link (well, at least in the UK). Orbital are hosting it, and DJing for the second half of the show. At about 1hr41, there's a new Paul Hartnoll track with Adam Freeland. Haven't got much further than that yet...

Re: The Gun Is Good Lyric

I've always thought it was a clever idea for a track, and love the clash of samples. Hoping for a lot more spoken word samples on the next album. Never managed to decipher the stretched out voice before, so thanks! It's troubled me for years. Not just because I didn't know what it was saying, but be...

Re: The Gun Is Good Lyric

I always wonder if anyone's tried to make a full transcription of the samples from 'I Wish I Had Duck Feet'. There are just so many things going on in that track that I'm still noticing something new everytime I listen to it!

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

You wouldn't be the same Hippy Dave from various 'progressive' rock forums, would you?

...And 'The Box, Part 1' - beautiful, eerie and haunting as ever!
