Re: Wonky album credits - P + ? Hartnoll

Just because Paul is listed as sole songwriter does not mean Phil had no involvement. I bet you Paul was the one who created the "map", then the pair based the tracks around that, thus giving Paul sole songwriting credit. But actually realizing the blueprint into sound, must had definitely...

Wonky US Release

Are we getting one? I was alteast hoping for an iTunes release, but so far nothing has turned up on the Orbital page other than a updated Wonky background. Seeing that there was not a online release for New France here I am beginning to wonder...

Re: ORBITAL LP8 - 2011

I think a 2-disc might be a little much for a comeback album. I'm hoping for a little more than an hour.

I think these two new tracks are a sign for longer tracks to come. They should do another two parter on that Red Album. :)

ORBITAL LP8 - 2011

Discuss....

I'm hoping for a really dancey record, in contrast to the soundtrack work that was Blue Album (though definitely not a bad thing).

Re: new Orbital album

Really interested to see where the sound will go next. Maybe longer tracks again? Two part tracks?

Those new tracks sounded like Blue Album/Altogether if anything.

Eh, I'm being overly critical. Orbital is back!

EP soon? Album later? These tracks feel more at home on a special EP.

Re: Paul Hartnoll Interview & 2 New Tracks

Don't Stop Me - Seems this is the third version of the track. I like the original better, with the female vox samples saying "Don't Stop Me". Much more "Orbital" sounding. New sample with the vocoder sounds a little silly. GIG is nice and tight. Looking forward to hearing the fin...

Re: Orbital on 6 Music (20/3)

Was Spirits a new Paul Hartnoll track or an Orbital track? I hope the former. It seemed a little bland to me.

Re: Orbital Live DVD

The gigs from last year must have been a warm up for them. I really don't think the Hartnoll's where going to go through the whole hassle of trying to rig up a camera crew and do that whole ball of wax, because that doesn't seem like the point right now. This is about the live experience for the few...

Re: Great new Orbital DJ mix for Triple J

Symphonic times are over? Re listen to "The Ideal Condition". I think they are going to re-invent Orbital, which the new track seems to hint at. The new track isn't "oh look at us, were back" kind of theatrics, it just Orbital bangin the shit out of the sound-system! It's got a T...

Re: Great new Orbital DJ mix for Triple J

Listening to this was easily one of the most surreal experiences of my life. They have always been my favorite artist. I got into Orbital in 05 so I have never had the luxury of hearing new material from them.

I think it's excellent. Modern Orbital for a new decade/chapter. :)

Re: Rank the Orbital albums

Actually after viewing Nothing, the TV avant garde short they scored in 99, in it's entirety I found I was able to appreciate it more for what it is.

But it still seemed to let those people down who weren't used to hearing Orbital tackle pop structured tracks.
