Re: At long last, BELFAST.
They still have a few synths with them up on stage. The other synths have been replaced by VST's and probably some noises have been sampled. I agree, from a visual aspect, it's very impressive to see the full live rig, but as far as performance goes, it's still live, and still slammin'. I saw them ...

Re: At long last, BELFAST.
They better bloody have the full kit and stage set up for the rest of the 'Christmas' tour! I'm not having them charge normal tour prices for a glorified DJ set!!!!

Re: Stage set
It's not so much rig time as space on stage. At a festival you can have a large number of bands trying to get set up at the one time. Sheer physical room is at a premium. Having your full set-up may not be actually possible due to space restrictions in this regard. Generally it would only be a majo...

Stage set
I'm curious as to why Orbital have made their new LED stage set smaller for all these essentially bigger festival gigs? The big X set up from the UK tour was pretty ace. Is it rig time? Or what? Loopz?

Re: What did you think of the setlist (Spoilers)
I'd love to spill my brains in this thread and i will when i get some quality time. Just wanted to say that " Wonky " at Manchester was the best for me and it never really did hit home as much in the Royal Albert Hall. Manchester's version was just mental. This is the track of the tour fo...

Re: What did you think of the setlist (Spoilers)
I loved the show in Manchester, what a gig! :) Came all the way from Finland and had a great time... Of the classics, the Carpenters drop in Are We Here? and the very welcome return of Sad But True - not to mention the absolutely banging versions of Impact and Chime/Crime - were the highlights of t...

Re: What did you think of the setlist (Spoilers)
Fair enough, but at a new album show you are going to get a lot of the new album. Twas always thus with Orbital. This doesn't leave a lot of room for old tracks, so you get a sprinkling of classics and a couple of surprises (Choice and Satan in 1996, Open Mind and Doctor Who in 1999, Belfast and TGW...

Re: What did you think of the setlist (Spoilers)
'One Big Moment' is fucking fabulous and the perfect show opener. Only 'Way Out' would get my vote more. And 'Impact' sounding like the CD? Are you for real? It's one of their best songs ever and live has been carefully tweaked over the years into a huge acid monster. Just slap on the Brown album ne...

Re: What did you think of the setlist (Spoilers)
I think it's a bit weird to moan that Orbital are playing lots of new stuff - they have a new album out for goodness sake! For most of us it's a joy that they've produced anything new at all! Bear in mind that right up until summer 2002 - when the band began what would become a distinct 'best of' sh...

Re: Paul lost his cool .... Went a bit wonky!
Well they started Manchester with a glitch didn't they?! When they were still saying hello something PARPED! loudly much to the crowds amusement. I must admit I didn't notice the 'Chime' shenanigans. I must have been jigging about too much. I do recall the tech guys being onstage with a torch a few ...

Re: Tour Merch
Mmmmm...not wowed. The orange shirt looks nice and a bit old skool. I miss the wit of some of the older stuff (Orbital By Night, Stylophone, Martian Heads) and the style of the original 'squiggle'. I find most tour merch pretty badly designed these days. What was the coolest shirt you lot last bought?

Tour Merch
Despite attending two of the tour dates so far, I've managed to sweep past the Official Swag Stall on both occasions. Is it any good? What's on offer? And why the bloody hell isn't there an online shop yet?
