Re: Belfast in Belfast (again)

Wow, sounds like you had a right ordeal getting to the gig, but obviously worth it! I've listened to the gig quite a few times this week and it sounded great. Not sure if it's down to the technical issues, the video quality or my imagination but several of the tunes had quite a different feel to the...

Re: Orbital - Monsters Exist - 14 September 2018

Given that they mainly seem to write new material to play live these days, I don't think we'll ever get another lower tempo album like Insides. However, I do like that Monsters Exist may be a coherent concept album rather than a collection of individual tracks. I still prefer to listen to whole albu...

Re: Orbital - Monsters Exist - 14 September 2018

Can't wait for this! Surprised Copenhagen hasn't been included on the album, even as a bonus track. Maybe it didn't fit in with the style of the other tracks? I wonder how many of these new tracks we'll get to hear at the festival gigs this summer before the proper album tour. 7 weeks to Hull and co...

2017 gigs retrospective

Great to see the forums back, they definitely offer something more enduring as I have no desire to be checking Facebook every day to make sure I don't miss any updates or interesting discussions. Anyway, I thought I'd try and inject some life into the boards (even those this Gigs one isn't directly ...

Re: Blue Dot: Mind blowing

In case anyone missed it, you can watch the bluedot video on twitch here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/157760675 The mp3 recordings from December are great, although I'd recommend the London one over Manchester as they seem to have rushed the release of that one and made a bit of a mess of the editi...

Beyond the Tracks, Birmingham - 15/09/17

Not seen much mention of it yet, but Orbital are headlining Friday of the new Beyond the Tracks festival in Birmingham. It's at Eastside City Park right in the City Centre, 2:00PM-10:30pm which is perfect for the last train home! Also features Leftfield playing the whole of Leftism, and Faithless DJ...

I love music interview

Another nice interview: http://www.ilikemusic.com/interview/Orbital I particularly liked the parts about how they play live, I didn't realise quite how much they broke the tunes down to individual components! Quite brave considering how easily it could go wrong, but probably explains how they manage...

Re: What did you think of the setlist

Might be worth posting a blatant spoiler alert for those yet to go abroad/festivals. I loved the setlist! As this was basically the Wonky album tour I fully expected to hear mostly new tracks, and this is a welcome change to the mostly 'best of' sets we've been getting for the last 10 years. The two...

New UK Gigs - December 2012 - On Sale Now

After the amazing gig in Manchester, the pictures of the Royal Albert Hall were making me extremely jealous that I couldn't go again.....but the appearance of some new UK dates for December have cheered me right up! Looks like they are doing a tour of mostly O2 academies and tickets are on sale from...

Re: Help - Party Music

Hmm, what's the occasion? I'll assume it's a normal party with a mixed crowd rather than some acid rave warehouse reunion! Turning it into a challenge, if I could only choose one crowd pleasing tune from each of your genres...... Motown and Soul: Martha and the Vandellas - Heatwave funk: Curtis Mayf...

Re: usb wristband birmingham gig

For anyone considering getting a wristband: I bought one for the Manchester gig and I have to say I think the quality is really good. Very clear recording of the entire gig including the encore, and it also includes the crowd sound rather than just the output from their equipment. Personally I prefe...

Re: usb wristband birmingham gig

Hi...just got in from the gig which was awesome! but....when i went to get the wristband at the end of the gig i was told someone forgot to press record! I kept the wristband anyway {got most of the money refunded} as it was cool, but was wondering if any of the other gigs will be available online ...

Did anyone get a good look at the official merchandise? Anything worth having? What about *cough* outside?
