Re: Yule cheer
Paul H did a DJ set at a bar near me last month to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who and played Christmas Chime at the end. It's great fun! I'm a sucker for Christmasifying anything and it's really nicely done. I like the choir and the little techno 'vwwip!' of the kickdrum coming back in...

Re: New tunes for December tour?
I don't need to hear Doctor ? again thanks... I'm a 'heavy user' of Orbital live so have similar requests to other addicts... I love Belfast and everything but would happily see that skipped (or tweaked/updated), plus Halcyon, but I know there are lots of people who go to see Orbital expecting to he...

New tunes for December tour?
So we know that normally when Orbital do a second tour later in the year they switch the set around a little bit, maybe dropping a couple of tracks and putting in a couple of new ones or bringing back some oldies. Anyone got any hints or suggestions for what might turn up in the set? If you know for...

Re: Radio 6 Music 21:00 Thursday 1 July
I'm sure there was some technical glitch going on at the beginning of Halcyon and i'm sure it was coming in when they had to go back to a bit of Crime again. Maybe that might the reason it's not being played out - just a guess though. I really liked the way Halcyon started. If it was a glitch they ...

Did Matt Smith really have a working knob though, or was he given a dud? It looked like he was doing more than Phil either way.

Re: Dr Who & Orbital!!
Yeah, the crowd was definitely a bit small and subdued at the start but it really picked up as the set went on. I was hoping we would get a bit more of a new set but I still really enjoyed myself - the Brown stuff was more acidy than last time I heard them play it, which is always good, and the upgr...

Hartnoll interview quote - did I imagine it?
I read an interview with Paul Hartnoll a couple of months ago, I think around the time they were playing in Australia - could have sworn it was linked to from this forum. I can't find it now though, or any reference to it, so am wondering whether I dreamt it. There was a passing mention where it sai...

Re: Dr Who - New Series
Glad Russell T Davies pissed off. This episode was immediately quirkier, spookier and more inventive than anything he wrote. The Doctor's a bit more like David Tennant than I was hoping, but fingers crossed he'll grow into something a bit more different as time goes on. Liked the set up of his relat...

Re: Orbital - Forever (Symphonic Version)
Having said that I did enjoy it and look forward to more of this sort of thing. You could buy the album it's off - it's a bunch more tracks of this sort of thing. It's from 11 years ago though, so you have to look backward, not forward. http://www.discogs.com/Instrumental-Acoustek/release/254561 To...

Re: Favourite song from the current set,and why.
Not sure abiut my favourite live track but I really REALLY like TGWTSIHH live. Really. There are plenty of lovely tunes that Orbital have done live over the years in a perfectly acceptable way, but that one never really grabbed me. I guess I'm disappointed if I hear an act play a tune too much like...
