"We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere condolences to all John's friends and family on their sad loss. Sad that he has died, yes, but at least he will be at peace now after being in poor health for some time.
We feel sure his name will live on forever, thanks to the extraordinary output of wonderful music he produced during his 50-year career. Hopefully this will be of some consolation to his immediate family as they try to come to terms with their loss."
