NEW ORBITAL RELEASE SOON !!!

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

For the non-clarevoyant out there, Bolly is wetting his pants over this piece of news:

"Orbital release soon

We have been sworn to secrecy and there isnt much more to say on the following news piece. Basically there will be another ORBITAL release in the near future.

No doubt there will be many questions but please do not email in as we will be unable to answer anything just yet.

More news on the next Orbital release when we get the green light...

Watch this space...."

Lets face it, it'll be rehashed re-released stuff... Might be a live DVD etc. but there'll be no new material.

Do people seriously expect there to be new material when they stopped recording back in 2004?

No, but you can always hope.

My tip as well.

My hope though is that they will put out a collection of all the remixes they have done, that would make my year :D

Of course not! But it's a great feeling to know SOMETHING is coming our way. :D

My money is on it being some sort of collection of live footage on dvd (please let it include P.E.T.R.O.L!) :D :D

I don't think they ever played 'P.E.T.R.O.L.' live...

P.E.T.R.O.L. live.....Glasto 95
and every gig up untill (but including)
Phoenix 1997

8)

I'm hoping it isn't just some remixes and rare tracks on a cd.

Thats me being selfish coz i have most of them already.

My hope is that it's a DVD. One that might include the Promo vids for the singles, the films for the tours over the years by Luke & Giles (there was talk of that at one point) , and maybe some of Paul's own personal videos that he';s filmed over the years.

Did they play it at Glasto in '95? I don't remember ever hearing it live and if they played it when you said they did, I'll have heard it a few times...

Yup. Glasto 95 was one of the first times they played it.

It was played.

I've got a bootleg tape of whole gig (which worryingly i can't find at the minute!) but tracklist was this....

Forever
Sad But True
KeinTrink Wasser
Impact
Remind
Times Fly
Are We Here?
P.E.T.R.O.L.
Halcyon
Belfast
Chime

This is the same set as they played in Italy the week before. (So that gig might've been the first to have P.E.T.R.O.L. played at it.)

The track came out a few months later on the Wipeout soundtrack.
