Keep coming back to this song and video! If any of you regulars haven't gotten around to properly watching the video instead of just having the song on in the background I highly recommend it. Really, really loving the vibe of it, very Snivilisation!
It's kind of got me thinking, how ace could an album backed by visuals as good as that be? It's even quite subtly powerful in its way. Probably because of it possessing a grain of truth in spite of the silly over the topness. I do remember imagining years ago that impact would work amazingly with some kind of anime style video of an impending asteroid collision and a last ditch series of attempts to defend earth with rockets and mad cartoon spaceships. So the end bit of the gun is good did kind of appease that. If only I had the same artistic talent!
Anyway! I do think there's definitely a lot of mileage to be had in the use of samples delivering a story/message over music as good as orbitals. Scratching my head to think of anyone that's REALLY consistantly hit the mark with something like that anytime lately, but that might be the beer addling it
