Orbital and PIL to launch Record Store Day in London this Monday (19th March) – win tickets!

Published by at 10:49 pm under DJ,Gigs,Music,Orbital

Orbital will DJ and PIL will play live in a secret location in Shoreditch, to launch Record Store Day. John Lydon (PIL) used the announcement as an opportunity to back physical records over downloads, saying: “The destruction of the music industry is because people can’t buy records easily. A record is for life. A download is a lack of life. A poor substitute for a real wife!”

If you want a chance to be on the guest list for this unique event, then send me an email (link at the top of webpage) with your name and a friend’s name. I will confirm if you have been successful via email and also provide details of the secret location. Good luck.

If you live too far away or can’t make it then you can always watch live on Boiler Room TV and the RSD website.

I am all for a physical record, and still play on cd’s myself, but the music industry is dying because of free downloads. It does hurt artists and it is the reason of seady declining album sales. A lot of legendary artists such as DJ RAP have had to stop putting out artist albums for favor of digital “EPs” since stores don’t really carry edm albums anymore. I hope this aprty goes well and I would love to be there, if I didn’t live in US. Love Orbital and support everything they do- do it proper!
